In October of 1992, Echo Johnson made her mark on the historic world stage of Playboy, appearing in the “October 1992 German Playboy Issue.” Discovered by world renowned photographer “Greg Gorman” at the tender age of 18 years old.
Echo would go on to make her appearance in the “January 1993 Playboy” issue, after Hugh Hefner had seen the German issue and contacted Greg Gorman to tell him he wanted to feature Echo as “Miss January 1993 Playmate of the Month.”
Echo worked consistently with Playboy for a span of 20 years, gracing 11 covers, and rated as the one of the “top 3 most published playmates” of all time. What followed was a long and successful modeling career, that she then parlayed into her love of skincare. Today Echo has a thriving medical aesthetics business in Texas and is a mother.
In May of 2021 during the COVID lockdown, Echo would decide to throw herself into creating a podcast, an idea she had put on the backburner for three years. The show was created and produced, with fellow playmate sister and “Playmate of the Year 1992, Corinna Harney.”
“The Bunny Chronicles Vodcast” serves as an homage to the one and only Hugh Hefner. The show takes a deep dive into who Hugh Hefner was, both as a man, and as the quintessential visionary and pioneer, of PLAYBOY Magazine. The show takes on a very personal introspective look into the unique and profoundly important cultural icon he was, and the enduring legacy he created, that continues to this day, told by the people who knew Hefner best, personally and professionally.
Additionally, Echo has fallen in love with the world of digital art and has been creating a series of collectible and rare NFT galleries that will soon be released.
January 2023, marks Echo Johnsons 30th anniversary of her appearance as Miss January ’93 and is thrilled to be carrying on the legacy of “Hugh Hefners Playboy.”
